Iranian Cinema Night (Ottawa)
The program, curated by Mohammad Hamzei and Foad Asadi, featured a selection of acclaimed Iranian short films and was held at Carleton University in collaboration with the universityu2019s Film Program and PAND u2013 Persian Association for Newcomers Development. The event attracted approximately 80 attendees, including film enthusiasts, students, researchers, and members of the Iranian community.
The lineup included Unjustified (Mohammad Reza Khavari, 2020), Dragonu2019s Tail (Saeed Keshavarz, 2019), Dreamless Sleep (Foad Asadi, 2020), Lost Swan (Ehsan Abbassi, 2022), Sillage (Farhad Delaram, 2022), Dabur (Saeed Nejati, 2019), and Adjustment (Mehrdad Hasani, 2022).
The event offered audiences an opportunity to explore recent trends in Iranian short filmmaking and to engage with contemporary cinematic voices from Iran.
